OUR MISSION

We merge art, culture, and impact to create work that honors heritage, sparks dialogue, and reclaims space for African aesthetics. By weaving tradition into contemporary form, we offer pieces that resonate across cultures and generations. Our mission is bringing African culture into everyday life through meaningful, modern design.

OUR STORY

Mama Lisa was born from a personal longing-a response to the absence of African stories and aesthetics in the everyday. Founder Lionel Njefi grew up in Cameroon, surrounded by tradition, spirit, and artistic richness. After moving to Europe and traveling across North America, he noticed how rarely African culture showed up in the spaces people live in. Mama Lisa was created to change that to bring heritage and identity into form through artful design that makes culture feel at home, wherever you are.

GIVING BACK, THROUGH WATER

We collaborate with artists and communities to create work rooted in cultural memory and expressed through contemporary form. Each piece brings African stories into everyday spaces-making beauty a bridge between people, place, and purpose.

As part of our commitment to meaningful connection, 5% of every sale supports Once Upon A Well, a nonprofit building boreholes and expanding access to clean water for schools in rural African communities. It's a quiet act of restoration-art in motion, flowing into something deeply human.

VISIONARY ARTISTS & MAKERS WELCOME
