Omotayo Ambali is a visual artist based in Lagos, Nigeria and a University of Lagos graduate whose work is rooted in one enduring obsession: the human being in all its complexity. Working across acrylics, oils, pastels, charcoal, watercolour, graphite, ink, and pen, he captures people in their most active and their most vulnerable moments with equal conviction. What sets Omotayo apart is his willingness to go where other artists hesitate. He depicts the habits, contradictions, and quietly controversial aspects of human behaviour that most people experience privately but rarely see reflected back at them. His intention is not to judge but to liberate. He creates work that meets people exactly where they are and gives them the strength to accept themselves fully and find peace within.
